Bharat Trangri
Senior Engineer, Punj Lloyd, India
B.E. Mechanical
2 and half years with Punj Lloyd
The kind of work our Group does is unique in its own way. From Refineries to Petrochemicals and from Pipelines to Offshore, Punj Lloyd is an ideal EPC Group with a varied portfolio. I joined as Engineer Trainee (Planning) and have worked so far on various Live Projects including Cross-Country Pipelines, Refinery Expansions and Offshore Work. My early exposure to Primavera, the Project Management software, has made me an invaluable asset to my department. I also conducted trainings for new trainees. All my professional learning comes from direct on-job exposure.

Management Trainee -Punj Lloyd, India
Post Graduate MBA
Punj Lloyd gives me an understanding of world-class management structure, thinking and analytical tools. I make the most of the training I receive by my seniors to face the real life challenges.
I enjoy the learning and values Punj Lloyd has taught me through various opportunities and exposure to technology and assignments. It has helped me immensely to relate to the theoretical knowledge I had gained so far.

Sembawang Engineers and Constructors, a Punj Lloyd company, has established itself as a major player in the industry not only locally but around the world. It is an honour to be able to join a forerunner in this line. With Sembawang’s excellent track record and numerous megaprojects on hand, it didn’t take long for me to decide to join the Group.
Under the guidance of selfless leaders and mentors, I have gained a vast amount of knowledge with respect to the industry. What I have learnt on the job has moulded me to be more independent, to be able to be more pragmatic, to be more spontaneous and made me realize the importance of working together as team. We laugh, we play and we work together, as a family. There is a very warm feeling at work, unlike most other big organizations.

Trainee Engineer (Mechanical) exigent, Simon Carves UK
Mechanical Engineering BEng (Hons) - Manchester University
2 years with Simon Carves
I graduated in Mechanical Engineering which is arguably the most diverse of engineering disciplines, offering a full spectrum of opportunities. However, I knew early on that I wanted to be part of a ‘bigger picture’ and that the Process Contracting Industry had the most to offer me. It is here that you get to see a plant in the feed stage right through to its construction and commission. Simon Carves’ name is synonymous with Process Contracting and in doing more research on the Group, as a whole, I quickly realised it was a dynamic organization, poised for further growth. Hence providing me the opportunity to expand on my professional skills and abilities, broaden my horizons and work abroad.
Engineers really benefit from on-site experience; this is often hard to come by, as the design office is always a challenging and demanding setting. Simon Carves’ management encourages site experience. I have undertaken a long-term site assignment on an LDPE project and I am due to undertake a second site assignment on a Bio-Ethanol project.
One of the most valuable experiences so far, has been the breadth of people I’ve enjoyed working alongside. This includes subcontractors in the field to corporate management from all corners of the world.
I have now worked within the group for two years and while part of the team, I continue to look forward to both an interesting future. I would recommend the industry to any ambitious Engineer!
