Oil & Gas in the Caspian
Incorporated on June 3, 2002, Punj Lloyd Kazakhstan is a 100% owned subsidiary of Punj Lloyd and is an active player in the engineering and construction business, like its parent company.
With offices in Almaty, Atyrau and Tengiz, Punj Lloyd Kazakhstan has built its reputation in projects of all dimensions and complexity requiring various skills, in the most demanding terrain and conditions. Be it flat deserts or icy plains, Punj Lloyd Kazakhstan has earned the reputation of delivering projects of quality, speed and economy. The company studied the market to achieve maximization of local content, Machinery - Manpower - Material. Also close proximity with Kazakh companies employing contemporary technology, gave the company an advantage.
The first project Punj Lloyd Kazakhstan undertook was the KAM 16” dia crude oil pipeline from Kumkol to Dhuzaly. Completed ahead of schedule, this project was important to the oil economy of Kazakhstan. The skilled and highly adaptable workforce with an Indian to Kazakh ratio 15:580 delivered results in temperatures ranging from -50°C to plus 50°C.
The Company created history while working on the large bore-small bore 333 km pipeline project for TengizChevroil/PFD in Kazakhstan by successfully and safely hydrotesting high pressure sour-gas injection line of 10" dia, 62 mm thick, 70 m Next Generation Gathering System (NGGS), at a pressure of 1,035 bar.
In keeping with the group philosophy of contributing towards community enrichment at its various project sites worldwide, Punj Lloyd Kazakhstan mobilized both manpower and equipment to restore a village affected by fire, contributing house-building material and rehabilitating people. Punj Lloyd sponsored the training for 6 of the best cardiac specialists of the National Clinical Hospital, Kazakhstan in Escorts Heart Institute, Delhi. With the world-class training they received, the Kazakh doctors conducted more than 500 surgeries since their return and achieved a success rate greater than 97%.
